Joanne L. Sivie Pidich – Monessen

Joanne L. Sivie Pidich, 82, of Monessen, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Paramount Senior Living in Baldwin. Born Feb. 11, 1942, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late John and Lena (Cecelia) Sivie. Joanne was a 1959 graduate of Rostraver High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from California State College and master’s degree from West Virginia University. She was a teacher for more than 35 years. Joanne volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of Catholic Women’s College Club and The Red Hat Society. She loved helping others, creating stained glass works of art and spending time with her grandchildren. Joanne is cherished mother to Kelly (Bryan) DiPiazza of Rostraver Township and Lori Pidich of Monessen. She was the most loving “Nunny” to her three granddaughters, Elena and Emma DiPiazza and Zea Pidich. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol Sivie of Agoura Hills, Calif.; and loving niece, Season (Neal) Skuro and children Sofia and Carson of Calabasas, Calif. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Jonas Sivie. Private family visitation followed by funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant were held Thursday. Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
