Mary Maple VanFosson, 88, of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at home. She was a former member of Elizabeth Wesleyan Church, where she was a pianist. Born Nov. 11, 1935, in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth McKay Maple and wife of the late William H. VanFosson. She is survived by daughter, Bonnie Jo VanFosson of Elizabeth; son, William C. “Butch” (Dorree Gedekoh) VanFosson of Elizabeth; grandchild, Troy (Barbra) VanFosson of Elizabeth Township; step-grandchild, Allison (Anthony) Hertzig of Boston; great-grandchildren, Memphis and Stephen VanFosson; step-great-grandchildren, Presley, Julian and Dax Hertzig; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. No visitation is planned. A funeral service with Pastor Jeff Riker officiating and burial are private in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Arrangements by PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, Elizabeth.
