Following her graduation from Monongahela High School in 1956, Donna worked for a short time as a secretary for the former Combustion Engineering in Monongahela. After raising her family, she went back to work as a waitress at Hills Restaurant in New Eagle until her retirement. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, she enjoyed playing cards with friends in a local card club they started as teenagers (which is still active), playing Scrabble and volunteering her time at Mon Valley Hospital, but most of all enjoyed her family trips to New York City’s Broadway, Las Vegas, Disney World, Conneaut Lake Park, Atlantic City and Penn State. She is survived by her husband, Richard G. Vuono, whom she married July 14, 1962; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael J. Vuono of Monongahela and John M. (Viorica) Vuono of Gahanna, Ohio; two grandsons, Cristian and Vlad; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Furiga of Lorain, Ohio, and Coleen Vuono of Mt. Lebanon; a nephew, Frank Furiga; and a niece, Erin Vuono. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Furiga; a brother-in-law, Robert Vuono; niece, Gina Vuono; and her nephew’s wife, Meredith Furiga. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 722 W. Main St., Monongahela. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. Condolences can be made online at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
