Woods, Cougars shut out Bearcats

When Charleroi’s Kaden Woods lost his chance at a no-hitter in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Bentworth, he quickly collected himself and worked through the final two batters of the afternoon to close out the victory. Woods was cool, calm and collected all day for the Cougars (4-2, 2-1), racking up 14 strikeouts and allowing just two baserunners throughout the game as John Scott doubled for Bentworth’s (0-5, 0-4) first hit of the game and Cameron Krejci was hit by a pitch.
