Margaret May Whaley – Anchorage, Alaska

Margaret May Whaley, 90, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024. A daughter of the late George and Clara Green, she was born in Fairhope, Pa., on Aug. 26, 1933. Prior to moving to Sun Lakes, Ariz., in 2023, Marge spent 53 years in Anchorage, Alaska. Her career with the federal government began in Washington, D.C., more than 40 years ago. She retired in 1993 from Civilian Personnel at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. She is survived by her husband, Elroy E. Burr Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ahern and Craig King of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Bonnie Whaley of Clarksville, Md., and Gary and Paula Whaley of Bridgewater, N.J.; five grandchildren, Amanda (Tyson) Graff, Steven Ahern, Jamie Whaley, Alexandra Whaley and Sydney Whaley; two great-grandchildren, Greyson Graff and Preston Graff; her sister, Beverly Glover of Belle Vernon; and her brother, Paul Green of Bridgeville, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Betty) Jackson; her sister, Judy Boulinger; her niece, Beth Ann Boulinger; and her brother, Eugene Green. Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at noon with Vernon Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
