Judge upholds ruling on Olympus well pad

A Westmoreland County judge has upheld a decision issued last year by the Rostraver Township Zoning Hearing Board to deny a special request by Olympus Energy to build and operate a Hera well pad in the township. In his Feb. 5 decision, Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Harry F. Smail Jr. agreed with the zoning hearing board’s decision to deny the request based on the proposed location of the well pad at 107 Gallitin Road near the cfsbank Event Center (formerly Rostraver Ice Garden) not meeting noise requirements in the A-1 Agricultural-zoned plot of land.
