Marjorie Adele Obade, 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born on Feb. 11, 1934, in Elco, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Irene Huber Roberts. One of her favorite shows was “The Andy Griffith Show,” and she often recounted her favorite episodes with infectious enthusiasm. Despite facing the challenge of blindness, Marjorie was an avid reader, using her vision-enhancing Braille books machine. She had a special bond with her seeing-eye dogs, and their presence brought her comfort and companionship, enriching her days with their unwavering loyalty and love. She is survived by her daughters, Rachael Obade of Belle Vernon, with whom she made her home and Toni (Bobby) Gauden-Espinoza; three granddaughters, April Gauden,  Holly and Doug Burton Trachy, and Emily and Ryan Boyle; three grandsons, Sidney and Christine Gauden, Tyler and Kandy Trachy, and Elijah and Taylor Obade; nine great-grandchildren, Sebastian Wright, Ander Gauden, Ian Gauden, Frya Boyle, Conner Boyle, Jaxson Barton, Jesse Barton, Kai Mae Obade and Oliver Trachy; numerous  nieces and nephews; and an adopted daughter, Shawn Groomes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Jan Obade, Kim Obade and Jill Trachy; two sisters, Jo Anderson and Lynn Roberts; and a brother, Leslie “Bud” Roberts. Private services were entrusted to ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.billicksfuneralhome.com.
