By obits

Carl Allen Chuprinko passed away peacefully at his home in Morgantown, W.Va., on March 13, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born on March 10, 1951, in Monongahela, Pa., to the late George S. and Dolores A. Shaffer Chuprinko, Carl was a man of intelligence and had an adventurous spirit — traits that illuminated every facet of his life. Carl graduated from Mon Valley Catholic and furthered his education at Penn Technical, where he honed the skills that would underpin a distinguished career. He began his professional journey at WTAE Radio before moving on to the National Cash Register Company. Carl’s talent and expertise also led him to roles at RCA in Canonsburg, Pa., and U.S. Steel-Clairton Works before he ultimately retired from General Electric as a senior electronic service engineer with 25 years of service. Beyond his professional life, Carl was a dedicated ham radio operator with the call sign WA3HQK and was an active member of the Uniontown Amateur Radio Club. His passion for technology was matched by a love for the outdoors, remnants of his family’s farming heritage shining through as he raised a bountiful garden each year and as an active member of the Fairchance Rod & Gun Club. Moreover, Carl was an accomplished snow and water skier, embracing the thrill of gliding across water and snow with equal enthusiasm. Carl leaves behind a loving family, including his dedicated wife of 52 years, Joyce Ann Rodgers Chuprinko; two daughters, Carla J. Chuprinko Jackson (Scott) of Califon, N.J. and Teri Chuprinko (James Braswell) of Morgantown, W.Va.; and two brothers, John Chuprinko (Rhoda) of Centerburg, Ohio, and Gary Chuprinko of Monessen, Pa. A member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, Carl’s faith was a stronghold throughout his life. He was a beacon of innovation and bravery, a man whose legacy will continue to inspire. Carl’s departure leaves a void, but his memory will be treasured eternally by those who knew and loved him. Carl’s family will honor his wishes for a simple cremation service. A memorial will be held at a later date. Fred Jenkins Funeral Home in Morgantown, W.Va., has been entrusted with arrangements, www.fredjenkinsfuneralhome.com.
