Mary Ann Bednar, 91, of Amherst, Ohio, formerly of Monessen, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in Mercy Health — Lorain Hospital, Lorain Ohio, with her loving family by her side. She was born on Dec. 14, 1932, in Monessen, daughter of the late Michael and Libera Lombardo Canestrale. She was a member of the former St. Cajetan Church. She is survived by her daughters, Debra and Tony Kootsouradis of Amherst, Ohio, Karen and Mark Machovina of Elyria, Ohio, and Ann Marie Bednar of Amherst, Ohio; grandsons, Tony and Shannon Kootsouradis, Matthew and Kimberly Kootsouradis; and great-grandchildren, Steven, Jenny and Worakan Kootsouradis; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Bednar; two brothers, Joseph Canestrale and Matthew Canestrale; four sisters, Angeline Mathieu, Vincetta Bell, Ann Single and Teresa Peters. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 16, 2024, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will follow, beginning at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
