Shelby L. Kostelac II, 46, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on Dec. 19, 1977, in Charleroi, son of the late Stephanie Lexie Kostelac and Shelby L. Kostelac, who survives. Shelby was Russian Orthodox by faith. He was a member of F&AM Charleroi- Monongahela Lodge No. 337. Prior to his retirement, Shelby worked as a power house engineer for U.S. Steel. Shelby was a family man. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed motorcycles and quad riding. Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife, Jessie Byron Kostelac; daughters, Joy (Caleb) and Olivia Kostelac; granddaughter, Savannah; sister, Tiffany Kostelac; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved “Shelby’s Soldiers.” Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcome from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. March 14, 2024. Charleroi-Monongahela F&AM Lodge No. 337 will hold services for Shelby at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
