Mary Kathryn Mannella – North Charleroi

By obits

Mary Kathryn Mannella, 88, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2024, with her family by her side. Born on May 9, 1935, Mary Kathryn was the daughter of the late William and Margaret McDonough Randall. For over six decades, she graced her card club with her presence; her culinary creations earned her the title of one of the best hostesses. Mary Kathryn’s intellect was matched only by her love for books, which she shared passionately, particularly during the cherished tradition of reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” to her beloved grandchildren on Christmas Eve. An avid gardener, she always enjoyed spending time tending to her beautiful flowers that surrounded her home. Mary Kathryn loved to travel; her journeys led her to Ireland, Spain, Italy and family vacations all across the United States. Family reunions and sisters’ weekends, complete with a shared bottle of Jameson, were highlights of her year, a testament to her devotion to those she loved. Surviving to cherish Mary Kathryn’s memory are her four children, William (Jan) Marraccini of Bangor, Pa., Mary Teresa “Terry” (Dave) Nicely of Eighty Four, Valerie (Dennis) Stitch of Lock View, Pa., and Eugene Marraccini Jr. of Lock View, Pa. She was the adored grandmother of Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, Amanda, Adrienne, Aaron, Sarah, Emmanuel, Patrick and Sean; along with her nine great-grandchildren. Mary Kathryn is also survived by her sisters, Anne Yohe, Sandra Fitzwater, Phyllis Stammitti and Virginia Randall; her brother, Stephen Randall; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mannella; her sister, Margaret Alice Tatsch; and her three brothers, William Randall, James Randall and Joseph Randall. Friends and family will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held inside the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 13, 2024. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hogan-melenyzer.com.
