James Lauteri – Adams Township/Mars, formerly of Monessen

James Lauteri of Adams Township/Mars (prior Monessen resident), passed away on Feb. 26, 2024. He was born Aug. 31, 1954, the son of the late Eleanor and Frank Lauteri. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Kathleen; and their children Kristen (Omar) Khan and David (Melissa) Lauteri and grandchildren Sophia and Hannah Khan and Alina and Luca Lauteri. He is also survived by his brother, John (Rita); and nephews Frank (Amanda) and Salvatore. He will also be missed by his dog Buddy, his constant companion. He was Catholic by faith and a current member of Divine Grace Parish-St. Ferdinand Church and previously St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen. After graduating from the Monessen Class of 1972 and attending college, he started his career at American Greetings, but the longevity of his career was spent at Mellon Bank as the vice president of marketing/advertising. He managed the sponsorship deals with the Pittsburgh Penguins, University of Pittsburgh and oversaw the naming rights of the Mellon Arena. He loved all sports and coached Monessen youth soccer, baseball and softball as his children were growing up. In addition to his professional accomplishments and coaching, he was a talented artist/painter, enjoyed rock band music and was quite the gardener. At his request, a private family viewing and Mass was held at Divine Grace Parish and interment followed at St. Mary’s cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME INC.
