Marilyn J. Labash – Donora

Marilyn J. Labash, 93, of Donora, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, in Jefferson Hospital. A daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Bigi Sosanko, she was born in Charleroi on Aug. 19, 1930. Marilyn was a resident of Donora for most of her adult life and a member of Bible Alliance Church of West Newton. She was employed by PNC Bank in Charleroi for 10 years in the 1950s and was the former owner and operator of Labash Market in Donora, along with her late husband. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Roseann (Scott) Palfrey of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jacqueline (Tim) Thompson of Ramah, Colo.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel (Angela) Labash of Rostraver, Monte (Carolina Rojas) Labash of Greer, S.C., and Jason (Lori) Labash of Castle Rock, Colo.; a sister, Gloria Bezy of Carroll Township; seven grandchildren, Amy Palfrey, Nina Palfrey, Cyndil (Michael) Goulding, Chanelle (David) Lash, Monte Labash III, Christian (Alex) Labash and Tamlyn Labash; and seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Palfrey, Olivia Martinez, Horatio Martinez, Natalie Baldwin, Samantha Baldwin, Boone Goulding and Beau Goulding. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monte Labash, on Oct. 8, 2011. There will be no public visitation. A service will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Charleroi Cemetery.
