‘Bat box’ to be installed at Palmer Park

Pavilion No. 2 at Palmer Park in Donora has been closed for the past few summers due to a colony of bats that has claimed the interior ceiling space as its home, but CNX Resources has offered to install a “bat box” before the colony returns in a month or two. The bat box, which is set to be installed March 20, will not be attached to the pavilion in any way. It will be installed in nearby clearing on a hill, said Michele Beresh, who will work on the project.
