Hounds moving on after Gardner’s big night

The Monessen boys’ basketball team was making its 43rd consecutive trip to the playoffs Friday night. And Coach Dan Bosnic knew that there are no easy games in the postseason, no matter the year. The hosting Greyhounds recovered from a sloppy first half, putting together 46 points in the final sixteen minutes and once again relying on its aggressive press defense to pull out a 78-56 victory over Summit Academy in the first round of the WPIAL Class 1A playoffs.
