Clients of McKeesport Area Meals on Wheels received a special gift with their usual food deliveries on Wednesday – Valentine’s Day cards created by students of teacher Monica Poupakis at the Francis McClure Elementary School in McKeesport.
Meals on Wheels volunteers packed the cards into bags of food at the distribution center located in the basement kitchen of the First United Methodist Church on Cornell Street in McKeesport for delivery.
Meals on Wheels provides five hot meals a week that are delivered on Monday through Thursday to approximately 75 clients, including elderly and disabled people who are unable to shop or cook for themselves.
Volunteers are always needed. Contact director Rose Marshall at 412-672-1998 to sign up.
