George W. Snyder, 88, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, surrounded by his family in Jefferson Hospital after a brief illness. A son of the late Charles and Marcella Rubinsky Snyder, he was born in Charleroi on Dec. 30, 1935. He was a member of City Reach Church in Charleroi. He loved attending church services, and he enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. George also loved cooking and making ravioli with all kinds of fillings. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Troy and Vickie Snyder of Chesapeake, Va., and Darren Snyder of Monessen; his two brothers, Dennis (Connie) Snyder of Washington, Pa., and Joseph (Deborah) Snyder of Poulsbo, Wash.; his niece, Angela (Randy) Kozura of Belle Vernon; daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Edward T.) Snyder of Rochester, Minn., his eight wonderful grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria (Coccari) Snyder, son Edward T. Snyder, his sisters, Grace Suss and Annabelle Oas; and his brothers, Thomas, Henry, William, Francis, Charles, and Robert Snyder. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Gregg Anders officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
