William E. ‘Bill’ Bergstedt – Belle Vernon, formerly of Monessen

William E. “Bill” Bergstedt, 69, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 26, 1954, in North Charleroi, the son of the late David H. and Lena DeRocco Bergstedt. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Pricedale Hungarian Club, Monessen Ukrainian Club, Monessen Elks #773 and was a 1972 graduate of Monessen High School. He worked as a crane operator for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel at the Allenport plant and Allegheny Technologies Inc., where he retired after 40 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Erica M. and Jason Ciepley of Monessen and Brianna Bergstedt of Belle Vernon; grandson, Nathaniel E. Ciepley and fiancée Lauren Planey of Pittsburgh; and former wife of 39 years, Aurelia Valdiserri of Monessen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Jr., Daniel and Barry Bergstedt. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, beginning with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
