Alice Crilley Caramela, 81, of Speers Hill, passed away peacefully at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital on Feb. 8, 2024, with her family by her side. Born in North Charleroi on Dec. 6, 1942, Alice was the daughter of the late Vernon and Mildred Henderson Crilley. She was the owner and operator of Alice Caramela Interiors and worked for over 40 years as a seamstress in the Mon Valley area. Alice loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her friends from high school. Surviving to cherish Alice’s memory are her daughter, Shawna (Lawrence) Vezzetti; son, Theodore (Lisa) Caramela; and son, Samuel Caramela; her three grandchildren, Lauren (Rob) Mawhinney, L. Paul (Heather) Vezzetti and Kaitlyn Caramela; her great-grandson, Camden Mawhinney; and her brother, Richard (Beatrice) Crilley. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mildred Crilley. Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, inside the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
