The California (Pa.) women’s basketball team has been in this situation before. Actually, it was just last year.
The Vulcans entered Seton Hill Wednesday desperately needing a win to end a three-game losing skid and get back into the PSAC playoff hunt.
With the Vulcans playing a must-win game, there’s only one person they wanted to turn to – redshirt senior Dejah Terrell.
The 6-1 senior put on an offensive clinic, scoring inside and outside, on her way to 36 points.
She was one of two Vulcans with a double-double, finishing with 13 rebounds. Allycia Harris chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds for California (15-7, 10-6).
“Who else would it be?” Cal head coach Jess Strom said. “She was dominant, and when she’s hitting shots she’s near unstoppable.”
