Robert ‘Bob’ Stewart Jr. – Greensburg

By obits

Robert “Bob” Stewart Jr., 73, of Greensburg, Pa., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024. Born Sept. 12, 1950, in Connellsville, Pa., he was a son of Bob and Peg Funk Stewart, of California, Pa. Bob was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and proud professional, taking on various management roles in the U.S. and Europe with Met Life and Professional Insurance Corp., before founding his own agency, Laurel Highlands Benefits, in Greensburg, in 1991. A devoted husband and father known for his “gift of gab,” he was often found at the center of family gatherings or speaking warmly (and at length) to perfect strangers throughout town. He was as witty as he was kind, and will forever be remembered for his one-liners and sage “bid-ness” advice. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed golfing and the company of his best friends, David Sheridan and Jack Rymarchyk, along with his Ligonier golf crew and many others. He is loved deeply and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Galiotto) Stewart, of Greensburg; two children, Erin (Chris) Prascus, and Britton (Grace) Crum, also of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Quinley Crum, Miles Crum and Layla Prascus; siblings, Carla Stewart, of Perryville, Md., Mark Stewart, of Cumberland, Md., and Todd (Carrie) Stewart of Elkton, Md.; and beloved nephews, Connor, Grant, Jack and Gavin Stewart and Austin Greer, of Elkton, Md. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg. Interment will be at a later date in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association Inc., 912 Killian Hill Rd., S.W., Ste 205, Lilburn GA 30047, (www.lbda.org), www.bachafh.com.
