Etta Faye Lincoln Melvin, 86, of Fairhope, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, with her loving family by her side at AHN Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills. Born Aug. 28, 1937, in New Salem, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Russell E. and Clara E. Randolph Lincoln. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 56 years, Mrs. Melvin was Protestant by faith. Etta was a machine operator of Rockwell International of Uniontown, Pa. Later she and her late husband John owned and operated Lincoln Florist in Fayette City. Her passion for creating floral arrangements and contributing to the liveliness of those around her will never be forgotten. Being a fifth-generation descendant of President Abraham Lincoln, she was an avid collector of her family’s memorabilia. She also was an avid fan of Elvis Presley’s music. Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters and son-in-law, Kelly Jo and Michael Ellin of Belle Vernon, and Merilee Melvin and companion Joey Stringhill of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, Alexis Scott Ellin and Camden John Ellin; twin sister, Ellen Skergan of North Huntingdon; and her baby sister, Ruth Irene “Judy” Ganoe of McClellandtown. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Melvin; and two brothers, Melvin Lincoln and Eugene Lincoln. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with the Rev. Richard J. Zelik officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
