Walter Frank Stelma Jr., 75, of Charleroi, passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024. Born on Dec. 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Stelma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi, the Charleroi Knights of Columbus and the Italia Unita Club. He was retired from Rock Ten and most recently worked at Allied Security. He also enjoyed camping at his camp in Elysburg, Pa. Walter is survived by his children, Walter “Chip” (Maria Stasko) Stelma III of Speers, and Michelle (James) Tegtmeier of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Trey (Amanda Boyd) Stelma, Derrick Tegtmeier, Meagan (Josh Haskins) Tegtmeier, Jordyn Tegtmeier and Airman 1st Class Sarah (Senior Airman Victor) Diaz; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Tegtmeier and Logan Webster; sister, Mary Marlene Sejuit, of Shamokin, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Dexter. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Loni Stelma; grandson, Alex Stelma; and brother-in-law, Wally Sejuit. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by interment in Mon Valley Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by Charleroi’s American Legion Post 22.
