Ralph J. Losey Sr., 95, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at Paramount Senior Living South Hills in Baldwin. Born Dec. 9, 1928, in Monongahela, he was the son of the late Patsy and Mary Affinito Losey. Ralph began his career with his brother at their family’s butcher shop and after his brother’s passing, continued working as a butcher at numerous stores throughout the area until his retirement. Catholic by faith, Ralph was a member and past president of the former Italian Citizens Club (I.C.C.) in Monongahela and was an avid golfer and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He and his wife enjoyed many years in Florida. Though short in stature, he was a big personality and quite often was the master of ceremonies for Mon Valley Florida reunions. He is survived by a son, Mark and his wife Sue Losey of Greensburg; a sister, Connie Bierholm of Destin, Fla.; five grandchildren, Dawn (Samuel) McPherson, Danielle (Matthew) Ford and Lance, Steven and Elena Losey; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Chase McPherson, Rebecca and Julia Losey and Austin and Audrey Ford; two great-great-grandchildren, McKenna and Cruz McPherson; and his daughter-in-law, Denise Losey of Sandestin, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Mellor Losey, who passed away four years ago on the same day, Feb. 4, 2020; his son, Ralph J. Losey Jr., who died Sept. 13, 2023; a brother, Patrick Losey; and a grandson, Justin Losey. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, where a blessing service will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. Interment will be held in Monongahela Cemetery.
