Donna L. Shultz, 87, of Elizabeth, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2024, at the home of her nephew. She was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late John and Ella McCracken Shultz. A 1955 graduate of Charleroi High School, Ms. Shultz received her Bachelor of Education from California University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Education from West Virginia University. She retired from the Elizabeth Forward School District. She was a member of the Elizabeth Forward Alumni and Friends Association, served as the association’s corresponding secretary and in 2001 received the Educator Recognition Award. Ms. Shultz was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church and former treasurer of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth. She was also a member of the National Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Phi Chapter of Elizabeth, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Surviving are her nephew, Brian Hrutkay of Bentleyville; and great-nephew, Kalvin Hrutkay of Bentleyville. Also deceased is her sister, Becky L. Hrutkay; and brother-in-law, Theodore “Ted” Hrutkay. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at THOMPSON-MARODI FUNERAL HOME INC., 809 Main St., Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, with the Rev. Adam Stump officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Creek Cemetery in Fallowfield Township. Members of the Delta Kappa Gamma will hold a rose ceremony at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Elizabeth Forward Alumni & Friends Alumni Association’s Scholarship Fund in memory of Ms. Shultz.
