Joyce Alice Youmans, 79, of New Eagle, passed away in Jefferson Hospital on Jan. 12, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grand and great- grandmother and friend who will be missed greatly. Joyce was born on Sept. 26, 1944, in Williamsport, Pa., and as a child moved to Signal Hill Farms in Montoursville, Pa. She later married and moved to Cortland, N.Y., and then to Norristown, Pa., until she retired. Joyce moved to New Eagle in September 2014 when she retired from ACME Markets. She worked for Acme for 27 years, and it’s where she met her best friends, Theresa and Carol. Joyce is survived by her children, Stephen (Donna) Hanford and Allison (Paul) Kennedy; her grandchildren, Jaquelyn (Kortney) Brown, Stephanie (Andrew) Mueller, Brianna (Drew) Guarino, Eilish (Tyler) Hufnagel and Madison Kennedy (Cody Telegraphis); her great-grandchildren, Iris, August, Violet, Lupine, Asher, Vera, Griffin, Beau, Jackson, Emersyn and Olivia. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Humane Society or local animal shelter of your choice.
