Francis ‘Fran’ Merolillo – West Newton, formerly of Monongahela

Francis “Fran” Merolillo, 70, of West Newton, formerly of Monongahela, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, in his home. He was born June 12, 1953, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., son of Louis and Mildred Spaziani Merolillo and Mary Cafaro. Fran was a graduate of Monongahela High School and a lifetime member of the Elrama Sportsman’s Club. He worked in the automotive industry for many years and loved riding his Harley. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Starkey Merolillo, with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage on Dec. 15, 2023; two daughters, Angela (Christopher Lininger) Starkey and Melissa Starkey, all of Latrobe; two grandchildren, McKinley Kyle and Mason Starkey; sister, Sandy (Doug) Taylor of Pittsburgh; and two brothers, Lou Merolillo of Pittsburgh and Nick (Jackie) Cafaro of New York. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME, 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.
