Darla J. Harrison Sethman Buck – Rostraver Township

By obits

Darla J. Harrison Sethman Buck, 65, of Rostraver Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, after a long illness. Born in North Charleroi on Nov. 13, 1958, she was the daughter of the late John and Velma (Thieser) Harrison of Charleroi. Darla attended Belle Vernon Area High School, where she was a member of the state champion gymnastics team. After high school, Darla attended Bradford Business School, graduating with a degree in management and human resources. Darla went on to a long and rewarding career in the medical management field, culminating in a director of human resources position. Her quiet nature belied her adventurous side, whether it be trying a new recipe, traveling, or taking dance lessons. She was quick to laugh at her own mistakes, but had the fortitude to persevere, and the fearlessness to overcome, all without fanfare! Darla was a kind and nurturing soul who cared for others far more than herself and it was apparent with her love for her children and grandchildren. Darla enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom she adored without limit. She loved hosting their sleepovers, complete with movies, manicures and junk food. She gave the best presents. She loved gathering with family and enjoying quiet evenings at home with her husband, Bruce Buck. Darla’s smile and laugh filled the room with warmth and love and she will be truly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Buck; sons, Timothy (Robyn) Sethman and Michael (Sarah) Sethman; grandchildren, Temperance, Brock and Olivia Sethman; sister, Gladys Ellison Jolliffe; brothers-in-law, Denny (Linda) Buck, Daniel (Donna) Bennett, Richard (Diana) Burger and Richard (Holly) Sethman; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy F. Sethman; and grandchild, Tristan Sethman. A private visitation and service was held for family members. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com.
