In only his second time on the ice, 8-year-old Elijah Rice, a first-grader at California Area Elementary School, skates at the school district’s new temporary ice rink Monday afternoon. Rice was joined by several elementary students who stayed after school for an hour-long ice skating session supervised by Superintendent Dr. Laura Jacob.
