By obits

Joseph A. Augustine of Donegal, formerly of Monongahela, was called by our Lord peacefully on Jan. 6, 2024, two days before his 76th birthday. He was the son of Joseph “Augie” Augustine and Helen Grajewski Augustine. After graduating from Monongahela High School in 1965, Joe enlisted in the Air Force, where he proudly served for four years. He worked at the former Volkswagen plant in New Stanton, until its closing in 1987, and at Canonsburg General Hospital for 25 years as an x-ray technician and CT technician, retiring on July 2, 2015. Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Michele M. Kozlowski Augustine; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Dave DuBarr of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Tom Bogdan of Westfield Center, Ohio; nephews, Jeffrey (Charity) Costantino of Fallowfield Township, Joseph (Heather) Costantino of Monongahela, Chad (Alicia) DuBarr of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Michael (Andrea) Bogdan of Delaware, Ohio; Tom (Beth) Bogdan of Holland, Ohio; niece, Lynn (Scott) Smith of Chapin, S.C.; beloved “Mom” Rosella DuBarr of Charleroi; and numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces. His greatest joy was being Santa for seven years at Overly’s Country Christmas, where he made sure every child felt the love of the holiday season. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Michael W. Kozlowski; and mother-in-law, Mary L. Gnip Kozlowski. At Joe’s request his body was donated to Humanity Gifts Registry (www.hrgpa.org) for research and anatomical studies. There will be no visitation or funeral services.
