Charleroi Volunteer Fire Department Capt. and borough Emergency Management Agency Director Matthew Prentice is shown assembling a cot from the American Red Cross in the warming shelter located in the basement of the fire station. The department also has a supply of blankets, pillows, water, coffee and hot chocolate. According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy and not as cold, with temperatures expected to climb into the upper 20s. Meteorologists are also watching a storm system that is expected to move through the area late Thursday night and into Friday that could provide a quick two to three inches of snow in time for the Friday morning commute.
