Sloane waives animal abuse hearing via Zoom

Washington County Controller April Sloane waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday without stepping foot inside a courtroom. Sloane’s defense attorney Louis W. Emmi petitioned Magisterial District Judge James Saieva Jr., asking if his client could participate by Zoom instead of appearing in person to face charges relating to the death of her dog.
