Scholarship surprise for Serra Catholic student

As Serra Catholic High School senior Drew Hairston walked into school Friday, he noticed a familiar truck parked nearby. The pickup belonging to his grandfather, Billy Starry, could have blown the cover of a big surprise, but instead it helped keep the teenager in the dark, leaving more questions than answers in what became anything but a typical Friday. Little did Drew know his family was waiting for him inside to see his life change alongside all his friends and classmates as Thiel College awarded him a full tuition scholarship worth $146,000.
