Alumisource fire extinguished quickly

Fire departments from three counties converged on Monessen last night just before 8:30 p.m. when Alumisource crews reported a fire. Municipal fire Chief Delmar Hepple said crews at Alumisource were dismantling a dust-bag unit, which is a large structure used to collect dust inside the mill. This unit was no longer in service and had been taken outside to be taken apart.
