White Oak may reopen budget, raise taxes

White Oak Borough Council will consider reopening its 2024 budget at Monday’s meeting to possibly add a slight tax increase in order to better balance the borough’s finances. The budget approved last month didn’t raise taxes, but it includes a deficit of about $877,000 that would be cut to $97,000 after using $780,000 of grant money that hasn’t been closed out yet.
