Stories Behind the Stars: A decades-long secret

Eighty years ago next month, Jack and Mary Wargo of Monessen were told that their son, Cpl. Albert Stanley Wargo, was missing. They weren’t told that he was in the single largest loss at sea of American fighting men.  Those details would be kept secret for nearly 50 years.
