Daniel W. “Tab” Tarabrella, 76, of Elizabeth, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, surrounded by family in his home. He was born May 4, 1947, in Monongahela, son of the late William J. and Mary Kikla Tarabrella. Tab graduated in 1965 from the former Mon Valley Catholic High School and continued his education with football scholarships to Pratt Jr. College in Kansas and then Southern Illinois University. Prior to retirement, Tab worked as a data communications supervisor for 34 years at Westinghouse Electric Company in Church Hill. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting trips to his cabin in Potter County and his hunting adventures in Africa, British Columbia and Illinois. His passion for hunting led him to become a taxidermist and owner of Oak Hill Taxidermy in Elizabeth. Tab was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Pogyor Tarabrella, married in May 1968; son, Daniel B. Tarabrella and daughter-in-law Cris Anne Tarabrella of Irwin; daughter, Christina M. Shaffery and son-in-law Bill Shaffery of Fort Mill, S.C.; son, Louie Tarabrella of Ellwood City; sister, Danielle Pistella and brother-in-law Marty Pistella of Whitehall; six grandchildren, Angela, Nick and Daniel Tarabrella, and Liam, Ben and Aidan Shaffery; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and numerous Tarabrella and Kikla cousins. Deceased is his brother, Mario “Uch” Tarabrella who died March 26, 2023. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, is in charge of his arrangements. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Tab’s life that will be held at R-Place Restaurant, 102 Enterprise St., Elizabeth, PA 15037, beginning at noon Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, with a short prayer service and blessing with a time of sharing followed by a luncheon (please arrive by 11:30 a.m.) Memorial contributions can be made to either Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
