Dawn E. Harper Devore – Monessen

Dawn E. Harper Devore, 80, of Monessen, passed away on Jan. 3, 2024, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born July 14, 1943, in Monongahela, daughter of the late Donald W. and Wanita Kidwell Harper. Dawn was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen, where she was a former choir member, officer of the Women’s Society and had served as church secretary. She loved to read, do needlework, bake cookies for her family and go to the YMCA to swim with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Devore; sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Delbert “T-Bone” Bucci; brother, William Harper; special aunt and uncle, Leona “Midge” Smith and Jay Smith; and sister-in-law, Shirley Sadler. Surviving are her three sons, Brian, Mark and Scott Devore; grandchildren, Malerie Devore, Cortnie Devore, Sherah Devore, Makayla, Devore, Zachary Devore, Felicia Deakle and Richard Churchman; great-grandchildren, Connor, Kylie and Reagan; special cousins, Karen and Ted Haluschak and Beverly and Joe Valente; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park.
