Monessen will use CDBG funds to fix Civic Center

Two weeks after concerns were raised about the condition of the Monessen Civic Center gym floor, the city made its first step toward restoring it. Council passed a motion Thursday to utilize CDBG funds for repairs and upgrades to the facility, including a refinishing of the gym floor, installing an accessibility ramp and new carpeting for some of its offices. The total cost will not exceed $26,300.
