Nancy Lee Reed, 84, of North Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at Residence at Hilltop with her loving family by her side. A daughter of the late John and Thelma Grant Kopp, she was born in Pricedale on Oct. 2, 1939. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Nancy was a member of the Bible Chapel, where she was a pianist since she was 14 years old and was very active prior to her declined health. She had been employed as a nurse for 40 years, first at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital then at Monongahela Valley Hospital in the same-day surgery center. She was also a member of the Presby Nurses’ Association and president of the Gibsonton Cemetery Association. Nancy loved knitting and made over 1,000 Christmas stockings for family and friends throughout the country. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives and activities. She is survived by two sons and daughters in-law, James and Joyce Reed of North Belle Vernon and Robert and Kelly Reed of Monessen; five grandchildren, Matthew (Rebekah) Puckey of Elizabeth Township, James Spiker of Belle Vernon, Noah (Hannah) Reed of Fort Belvoir, Va., Gabriel J. Reed of North Belle Vernon and Kendra Reed of Monessen; five great-grandchildren, Makayla, Alex and Nicholas Puckey and Meadow and Forest Spiker; and one great-grandchild “on the way.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Reed on June 18, 2014; and a sister, Mabel Fries, on June 24, 1998. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m.  and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held in the Bible Chapel, 203 Johnson Ave., Belle Vernon, at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Alan Booth officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at the Residence at Hilltop and OSPTA Hospice for their compassionate care.
