James F. ‘Crow’ Maxson – Elizabeth Township

James F. “Crow” Maxson, 81, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born June 6, 1942, in Charleroi, son of Bryl F Maxson and Betty Jane Rhodes Maxson. Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam, a 50-year member of Brightwell-Daughtery American Legion Post 484 of Fayette City and a member of Naomi Athletic Club, Belle Vernon Moose and Jefferson Estates Golf League. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport plant and the Perry Auto Auction. He is survived by his wife, Jill Ann Matthews Maxson; daughter, Jamie Hodge and husband Timothy of Monongahela; son, Jay Maxson and wife Rachel of Elizabeth; brother, Bryl “Sonny” Maxson and wife Edna Mae of Fayette City; grandson, Brandon Hodge; granddaughter, Emily Hodge; granddaughter, Gabby Maxson; granddaughter, Nora Maxson; aunt, Ethel Mae Maxen; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Dave Giannini; and several nephews. Also survived by Gary and Grant, “His Boys.” He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Jack.
