Extras sought for filming in Monessen

Valerie Parsons, a pastor in Wheeling, W.Va., and wife of Dave Parsons, passed away in May 2022. Mirroring her real-life job, Valerie plays the role of a pastor in Dave’s upcoming TV series “The Higher The Hair, The Closer To God.” “And then when she passed, it was just like, ‘I have to finish this,” Dave said. “I just felt like it kept me sane, to be honest, because it was time consuming and got me out of the grief factor after about five months. I kind of feel like I’m being appointed, whatever you want to call it — guided by like, ‘Hey, you’ve got to keep doing this. Hey, you’ve got to finish this.’”
