Janet D. Miller – Elizabeth

Janet D. Miller, 83, of Elizabeth, formerly of Coulter and Versailles, passed away at home on Dec. 17, 2023. Born July 2, 1940, in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Dorothy Zalac Kijowski and the significant other of John McCartney. Janet worked for U.S. Steel Irvin Works and was a bus driver for STA and Matthews. She was a member of the CFU Lodge No.146 in Versailles. Janet’s sharp intellect was evident in her ardent pursuit of crossword puzzles. She would spend hours engrossed in wordplay and never missed her stories on TV. Janet’s true love, however, resided in her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, showering them with boundless affection, laughter and wisdom, creating memories that will forever be treasured. One of Janet’s most cherished traditions was gathering with her friends for dinner on Thursday nights. These evenings were filled with laughter, conversation and the shared enjoyment of good food. In addition to John, Janet is survived by her sons, Dennis Miller, Dale Miller, and Duane (Vicki) Miller; seven granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Denise (Ron) Snyder; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Kijowski. The services for Janet will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 333 E. Carson St. No. 441E, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
