Fred J. Caster II, 89, of Elizabeth, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023. Born in Forward Township on Dec. 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Fred J. and Lillian Collins Caster. Fred was a mechanic and also worked for Volkswagen. He was an avid hunter and loved reading. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his son, Fred J. Caster III (Jennifer) of Forward Township; daughters, Chris A. Pierce of Fayette City, and Cindy Strotman (Craig) of Akiak, Alaska; grandchildren, Tyler (Brandi) Peroney, Ashleigh Peroney, Jacob Strotman, Isaac (Alyx) Strotman, Anthony Sayles and Cole Pierce (Lindsey Manko); great-grandson, Archer Peroney; sisters, Janet Ufko of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Florence Shoemaker of Huntingdon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Ufko Caster; brothers, Howard, William, Frank and Harry Caster; and sisters, Dorothy Paquet and Dolores Spinneweber. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10 a.m. Friday for the interment at Round Hill Cemetery.
