Elizabeth M. “Betty” Fedor Fundy passed into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 17, 1937, in North Charleroi, to the late Joseph N. and Philomena Klimo Fedor. After graduating from Charleroi High School, she graduated from California State Teachers College in 1959, supplementing her education at graduate school at Penn State. Elizabeth’s passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a speech and hearing specialist with Washington County. Later in life, after raising her own family with love and devotion, a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Betty served as the director of religious education at St. Sebastian Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first grandson, Freddy Fundy. She is survived by her husband, Fred Fundy, to whom she was married 61 years; her five children, John (Carrie) Fundy, MaryAnn (John) Fuhry, Fred (Denise) Fundy, Joanne (Jeff) Jones and Susan (Tim) Donaldson; and grandchildren, Dominic Fundy, Tyler and Kelsey Kurutz, T.J. and Danielle Kurutz, Lissa Jones, Neal Jones, Sam Donaldson and Michelle Donaldson. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Betty to St. Sebastian Church, North Belle Vernon Fire Department or the Belle Vernon Public Library.
