Early-morning fire leaves Donora building destroyed

An unoccupied three-story apartment building at 749 McKean Ave. in Donora is a total loss and has already been razed after a huge fire broke out at 3 a.m. Thursday. Donora Fire Co. worked with Charleroi, Bentleyville and Carroll Township firefighters for about three hours to control the blaze. Murrysville Medic One and Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services were also on hand, and Mornak Excavation and Landscaping demolished the building. The fire marshal was called to the scene and is investigating.
