Dominic Anthony Kasony – Trafford, Formerly of McKeesport

Dominic Anthony Kasony, 74, of Trafford, Pa., formerly of McKeesport, died on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on June 18, 1949, and is the son of the late Anthony Kasony and Christina Supp. He is survived by his wife, Janice Demase Kasony; children Dom (Diane) Kasony Jr. of Eighty Four, Pa., Lisa Foscoe of Coraopolis, Pa., Brendan (Joyce) Kasony of Ridgefield, Wash. and Leah Kasony of McKees Rocks, Pa.; grandchildren, Angelina Kasony, Brendan Kasony, Brittany Foscoe, Tiffany Foscoe and Richard Foscoe; siblings, Steven Kasony, Kathleen Harkness, Rick Case and Kimberley Supp; and many nieces and nephews. Dominic proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Cadmus during the Vietnam War. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 701 and was named District Deputy Commander. Dr. Kasony earned a Ph.D from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a post doctorate clinical internship in School Psychology through Duquesne University. He dedicated his career as a psychologist to helping children, particularly autistic children. His book, “Autism: A Practical Guide for Parents” was published in 2021. Family and friends will gather on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023 at noon until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
