Trojans fall in season opener to rival Bulldogs

Facing a Beth-Center team that played two games over the weekend, the California boys basketball squad knew it might have to battle around some rust in its season opener. The Trojans used their height and dominated the paint early on, but they were not able to sustain that offense in the middle quarters and the Bulldogs caught fire from beyond the arc in a 74-64 win over visiting Cal in non-section action Tuesday night.
