Joyce L. Thorpe, 74, of Charleroi, passed away in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh, on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 3, 1948, Joyce is the daughter of Shirley C. Fox Sullivan of Pittsburgh and the late Sterling White. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Schools, she was Christian by faith and had been attending St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. Joyce enjoyed walking, dancing and exercising. In addition to her mother, Joyce is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Isabelle Thorpe of Fallowfield Township, Raymond and Dawn Thorpe of Fallowfield Township, Bobby Thorpe (Kelli Miller) of Charleroi and Christopher and Amy Thorpe of Carroll Township; a daughter, Tiffany Heasley of Washington; three brothers, Thomas (Cindy) Bichler, David (Donna) Bichler and Frank Sullivan, all of Pittsburgh; a sister, Kathy Bruce of Pittsburgh; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Duane Thorpe, in 2010; and her brother, Sterling “Butch” White. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, and from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, at which time services will begin with Pastor Jeff Marton officiating.
