Charleroi Area students will take the stage to share their talent during the annual spring talent show 7 p.m. Saturday at the Charleroi Area High School Auditorium.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show set to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will directly benefit this year’s spring musical.
The talent show returned in the spring after being put on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, because of scheduling conflicts, talent show performers will return to the stage in the fall and the district’s fall theatre showcase will be held in the spring.
In its fifth year, Drama Club sponsor and musical director Melissa Vitali leads the talent show each year with help of students. This year, there are 20 students in grades 6-12 involved in the cast and crew.
Open to all middle and high school students, the show offers something for everyone and there are always a few unexpected acts.
“We have one student performing an original comedy act, one that is singing and playing the ukele, and a sister duet with one singing and another playing the guitar,” Vitali said.
Students take time in preparing their acts, some going all out with costumes and other props.
This year performers include: Dominic Lowe, Shennen Dzurinko, Janie Dzurinko, Ayla Addis, Camryn French, Danika Hampton, Aiden Jackson, McKenzie Spano, Julianna Spano, Cailyn Pringle, Louanne Ducoli, Lairah DiPietrantonio and Camdyn Carson. The crew includes: Madalynn Cherry, Jacie Lipari, Kayleigh French, Braden Spano, Emerson Panzone and Ezri Decker.
